Watchmen
I'm about halfway through this seminal graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. It's definitely groundbreaking, and worth reading based on that fact alone. Not certain I would agree with Time in listing it as one of the 100 greatest English novels of the past century. Some of the metaphors are made so explicit as to be annoying. More to come once I've finished it.
